Economic Drivers of Voluntary Return among Conflict-Induced Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria

North-East Nigeria is recovering from a decade of terrorism by Boko Haram during which the region collapsed socioeconomically and millions were displaced. The displaced live in various camps Adamawa, Borno, Yobe States, serve as primary source data for this research. Nigerian government has expressed their desire to return home following peace restoration region. Their unwillingness despite perceived gains reintegration prompted research examine economic determinants willingness reintegration. Logistics regression results show strong positive influence having an assurance finding employment back on further suggest that persons are 14 times more willing when guarantees employment. To encourage reintegration, authors recommend be empowered economically through provision jobs upon communities. Recommendations interested parties presented with suggestions expand social institutions collaboration government.
